Family of Kendrec McDade Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit

A civil rights lawsuit was filed in federal court today in the case of the late, black college student, Kendrec McDade, shot to death last month after a pursuit by two Pasadena Police officers. A civil rights lawsuit was filed in federal court today in the case of the late, black college student, Kendrec McDade, shot to death last month after a pursuit by two Pasadena Police officers. They were responding to a 911 call from a man identified as Oscar Carrillo, who said a backpack had been taken out of his car by two young black men. McDade was not armed, and the lawsuit says police handcuffed him and let him died without administering first aide. Carrillo turned out to be in the country illegally, and Pasadena Police have charged him with involuntary manslaughter. Immigration Enforcement has released him while the District Attorney studies the law.
