San Jose is the largest city in the Silicon Valley, and it's considerably bigger than San Francisco. But from Major League Baseball to hardball politics, San Jose continues to find itself on the wrong end of the cudgel when it comes to disputes with San Francisco. But now, in spite of objections from San Francisco officials, the state has decided to end the first leg of the bullet train in San Jose. Zócalo Public Square columnist Joe Mathews says that could be a first step toward giving San Jose the respect that it deserves.
