Born in Chile and raised in Canada, Cristóbal Tapia de Veer is celebrated for his surreal and genre-bending approach to television and film scoring. His work on Utopia (2013) gained cult recognition, while his eerie, playful compositions for HBO’s The White Lotus won him an Emmy Award. He also composed the unsettling soundtrack for the horror hit Smile (2022). Combining unusual instrumentation, electronics, and avant-garde techniques, Tapia de Veer has redefined the sound of modern screen music.
