Dan Bejar
MusicianDan Bejar (born 1972) is a Canadian musician, best known as the creative force behind the long-running project Destroyer. Since the mid-1990s, he has released numerous critically acclaimed albums that span genres from lo-fi folk to glam rock, jazz-inspired arrangements, and lush orchestral pop. His songwriting is often described as literate, enigmatic, and deeply poetic.
Bejar is also a founding member of the Canadian indie supergroup The New Pornographers, contributing vocals and songs across their catalog. Beyond Destroyer and The New Pornographers, he has collaborated on other projects, including Hello, Blue Roses, with his partner Sydney Hermant.
With over two decades of music-making, Dan Bejar remains a distinctive voice in indie music, praised for his uncompromising artistry, lyrical depth, and constant reinvention.
