Why did Jeff Sessions settle a case of a Russian money laundering? Yesterday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions received a letter from Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee. They want to know why the Justice Department suddenly decided to settle a major money-laundering case two days before it was to go to trial in New York. The defendant in that case is represented by Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, who met with Donald Trump Jr.
Accusations of lying fly between James Comey and White House During his testimony Thursday, former FBI Director James Comey accused President Trump and other White House officials of lying when they said the FBI was in disarray and its staff had lost confidence in him. President Trump’s lawyer said Comey was wrong -- that the president never asked for his loyalty, and never asked him to back off the investigation into former NSA director Michael Flynn.
