It was sponsored by the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation of Native Americans to further what tribal leaders called “an important discussion of racism.” On Wednesday, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board ruled that the term “Redskins” was “disparaging” to “a substantial composite” of Native Americans when trademarks were granted between 1967 and 1990.
