Pulp
British Britpop Band, fronted by Jarvis CockerPulp is an English band formed in Sheffield in 1978 by frontman Jarvis Cocker. After years of lineup changes and underground releases, the group achieved massive success in the mid-1990s as one of the central figures of the Britpop movement. Their 1995 album Different Class went quadruple platinum in the UK, driven by anthems like “Common People” and “Disco 2000,” which remain defining songs of the era.
Known for their witty, socially observant lyrics and Jarvis Cocker’s charismatic stage presence, Pulp carved out a reputation as one of the most literate and theatrical British bands of their generation. Other acclaimed albums include His ’n’ Hers (1994), This Is Hardcore (1998), and We Love Life (2001).
After disbanding in 2002, Pulp reunited for tours in 2011–2012 and again in 2023. In 2025, the band returned to North America for the first time in over two decades, co-headlining with LCD Soundsystem and celebrating the release of their first new album in 24 years.
