John Wizards: John Wizards

When we polled the KCRW DJs on their favorite albums of 2013, some expected names came up, from familiar faces (Arcade Fire, Jim James) to newcomers with breakout years (Jagwar Ma, Laura Mvula). But one surprise was the appearance of South African electronic project John Wizards' self-titled record on a few DJs' lists.

Perhaps one shouldn't be so shocked, as it captivated us right out of the box. Don't just take my word for it; read Mario Cotto's blog post about them.
