Sounds from Jamaica
I don’t consider reggae or Jamaican music to be my particular forte, so this mix comes from a humble place. I know I’m not the ultimate guide to such a vast and deeply influential musical universe, but I wanted to take a stab at creating a reggae and Jamaican music mix that listeners could enjoy at home.
Evan’s recent guest Andre Fowles, along with Ziggy Marley’s recent appearance on Morning Becomes Eclectic and Reggae Night XXIV at the Hollywood Bowl as part of the KCRW Festival series, inspired me to dedicate this month’s exclusive member mix to a genre, and to the music of Jamaica, that I probably listen to more than I realize.
