NOT TO BE MISSED CULTURAL EVENTS IN COMING WEEKS

    I. "Woyzeck" at UCLA Freud Playhouse, December 3-15, 2002.

A new musical production by always provocative avant-garde theater director Robert Wilson collaborating with songwriter/ musician Tom Waits. If you know this story of a German soldier going mad and murdering his girlfriend, it's probably because you've seen the Alban Berg opera "Wozzeck" based on the 19th century play by Georg B-chner. Charge by phone: (310) 825-2101

II. Provocative Evening at LACMA: "Architecture & The WOW Factor", December 11, 2002, 7:30pm, Bing Theater, LACMA East.

A conversation between Paul Goldberger, the New York architectural critic, and Witold Rybczynski, renowned architectural historian. How flamboyant architecture of today effects cultural discourse. What is the long-term effect of such architecture on public taste, on museum priorities and art exhibitions? If the distinguished guests really have guts, they will tackle the issue of the Rem Koolhaas proposal to redesign the LACMA campus. Event organized by the LACMA Institute for Art & Cultures. VISTA Ticketing: ( 877) 522-6225
