Frédérick Gautier is a French ceramicist trained in landscape architecture who once had a studio on a boat on the Seine River in Paris.

But he recently spent time living in Frogtown and has created raw, rough clay teapots, plates, flower pots, inspired by inspired by the Los Angeles River, from engineering details in the concrete channel to the pipes and objects he found there.
His installation is on display at Please Do Not Enter, a gallery in downtown Los Angeles that last year sponsored the whitewashing of the Bates Motel in Silver Lake. DnA spoke with Frédérick Gautier and Nicolas Libert, co-founder of Please Do Not Enter.
