Grand Visions for Grand Avenue

It has MOCA, the Music Center, Rafael Moneo's cathedral, and the show-stopping Walt Disney Concert Hall. But Grand Avenue is still not the throbbing heart of downtown some would like it to be. Now that may change. Frances Anderton speaks with developers and architectural critics about the selection of five developer-architect teams who'll compete to create a new vision for Grand. Plus, a look at the luxury car that was once the pride of British car design. Now owned by Ford, the Jaguar X-type Sports Sedan has been retooling its image.
