Britweek, and who should be there but the creator, Julian Fellowes, the executive producer, Gareth Neame, and a star, Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary) of everyone’s favorite classy soap opera about class, Downton Abbey.

Amidst the chatter and clatter of lunch, I managed to get a few minutes with Gareth Neame, and asked him about the characters in the story that are no less intriguing for being inanimate: the striking house, fashions, cars, gadgets and decor, namely the “DnA” of the show, that tell a fascinating story of a moment of huge cultural and economic change in England. Hear Gareth in this clip; he is very interesting.
