Fire at Sea
Fire at Sea is Gianfranco Rosi's profoundly moving documentary on the migrant tides transforming our wold, and the connections in it are as revelatory as they are mysterious.
The leisurely opening sequence of Fire at Sea follows a schoolboy, Samuele, on Lampedusa, where boatloads of migrants -- may of them dying and some of them dead -- keep reaching the island after attempts to cross the 70 miles of the Sicilian Strait that separates the island from North Africa.
