    Manchester by the Sea

Joe Morgenstern calls Manchester by the Sea is the best movie he's seen so far this year, "a quiet masterpiece that eggs and flows at the rhythm of life."

See Manchester by the Sea as soon as you can, preferable with someone you love. Kenneth Lonergan's third feature is a drama of transcendent beauty, and Casey Affleck's portrayal of the janitor, Lee Chandler, is stripped-back perfection -- understated, unaffected, yet stunning in depth and resonance.
