    Journalist Jon Regardie has been reporting on the evolution of downtown LA for more than two decades, from sanitation issues on Skid Row to the trendiest new restaurants. So what do the changes mean to him?

    “We are seeing the rebirth of an urban center, but Downtown LA is still in the middle of its rebirth,” he said. “We’re twenty years in. It’s so remarkably different than it was in 1999 and it’s going to look vastly different in 2039.”
