The nation’s highest court rejected the Trump administration’s argument to add a citizenship question to next year’s census. In response, the president took to Twitter eviscerating the decision, and threatening to find a way to delay the official count. California had planned a rigorous and expensive campaign to allay fears about the census, and California Secretary of State Alex Padilla says that hasn’t changed.

“Even though the ruling was in our favor this morning, California is still committed in investing $187 million in census outreach and education and assistance over the next year,” said Padilla.
