Emmy Nominations Announced, 'Game of Thrones' Tops the List

A strong showing for Game of Thrones, Fargo and Breaking Bad at this year's Emmy nominations, but a snub for critics' favorite Orphan Black.

No big surprises coming out of this morning's announcement of 2014 Emmy nominations. HBO's Game of Thrones has the most nominations, 19, with FX's Fargo and AMC's Breaking Bad close behind. No recognition though for Orphan Black, the BBC America drama about clones, whose lead actress Tatiana Maslany has been much praised by critics. Netflix has a bigger presence than last year at the Emmys, thanks to the continued success of House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. Other shows found some success by switching categories. Showtime's Shameless had previously been submitted for consideration in the drama category with no success. This year, they tried again as a comedy, and the show's star, William H. Macy received a nomination for best actor.
