Leonardo DiCaprio Shares Challenges of Making 'The Revenant'

Director Alejandro Iñárritu won an Oscar for last year's Birdman, and he's hoping to go for the gold again with his new movie The Revenant, which comes out in December. The drama is a Western about a 19th century explorer and was shot in sequence, using all natural light. Leonardo DiCaprio plays the lead, and in an interview with Yahoo Movies, to say he described the filming conditions as less than ideal would be an understatement. DiCaprio said the film involved "some of the most difficult things I've ever had to do in my entire career," including eating raw bison liver and almost getting hypothermia swimming in frozen rivers. Earlier reports from the set indicated that much of the crew had been fired or left due to unsafe conditions.
