Sony Introduces Streaming TV Service with PlayStation Vue
As the media landscape continues to shift, cable cord cutters will soon have yet another option to access programming. Sony's announced they'll be getting into the web-based TV game with a new service called PlayStation Vue, which will stream shows through a PlayStation console.
A new service offered by Sony, PlayStation Vue will be one more way to watch TV via an internet connection. The subscription service will require a PlayStation console, something that 35 million American homes already own. Viewers can access about 75 channels through the service, which executives predict will cost about $60 a month. Many major cable and broadcast networks have signed on to the service, including CBS, Fox, NBC, MTV, Comedy Central and Bravo. Missing from the deal? Disney and Time Warner. That means no ABC, no ESPN and and no HBO. But for Game of Thrones fans who don't have cable, HBO will be offering their own over the top service next year.
