The Academy Awards Kerfuffle
Every year the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences struggles to put on a compelling show for the Oscars and it often hinges on getting a great host and a producer willing to take on the gargantuan task. Until this week it looked like Lorne Michels of SNL was going to produce the next show and Jimmy Fallon was going to host but that plan has been thwarted. Bob Iger-- the chairman of The Walt Disney Company which owns ABC -- the network that will broadcast the Oscars-- has put his foot down about having NBC talent hosting and producing a show on his network.
