TV Networks Continue to Make Big Bets in Digital
Jon Stewart heads to HBO to do digital shorts and CBS will present a new Star Trek series on their streaming service CBS All Access.

Stewart signed a four-year deal with the cable network to do digital content that will appear on HBO Now and HBO Go. HBO has brought in a lot of talent recently to work on digital projects, including Bill Simmons, formerly of ESPN and Grantland. On the broadcast side, CBS has announced a new Star Trek series to debut in January 2017 on their digital subscription platform, CBS All Access. The CBS streaming site is one of the more affordable streaming outlets available, and the network is betting fans of the Star Trek franchise will be willing to pay $6 a month to see it.
