Will the Vatican’s Sex Abuse Summit Lead to Change?

Pope Francis has convened a historic summit at the Vatican this week on clergy sex abuse. That has the attention of survivors from all corners of the world, including men and women here in Southern California.

One of those watching closely is Tom Emens of Ventura, who says he was molested by a priest in Anaheim back in the 1970s. Since coming forward, he filed a civil lawsuit that calls on 11 California dioceses to release the names of every clergy member accused of sexual misconduct.
