These days, with the right attachment, your smartphone can scan a credit card. Soon it will detect sleep apnea, scan your breath for cancer and monitor your heart for arrhythmia. Dr. Eric Topol is author of The Creative Destruction of Medicine: How the Digital Revolution Will Create Better Health Care. He's also Director of the Scripps Translational Science Institute and co-founder and Vice Chairman of the West Wireless Health Institute in La Jolla. He discusses why we should celebrate the coming healthcare revolution and how we can address the ethical challenges along the way.
