LA's a Hot Topic at NFL Owners' Meeting

Campaigns to move the St. Louis Rams or San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders to Los Angeles are getting a lot of talk at the NFL owners' meeting in Phoenix this week.

St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke is pitching a plan this week to the NFL that could move his team to Southern California. Kroenke wants to build a more than $1.8 billion, privately financed stadium on a piece of land at the old Hollywood Park in Inglewood. Meanwhile, down the freeway in Carson, that city announced that it's gathered 14,000 signatures from residents in support of a stadium ballot initiative there, for a venue that would be home to two teams: the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders. Putting a team – or teams – in the nation's second-largest market is an idea that's getting a lot of talk at the NFL owners' meeting in Phoenix this week. KCRW's Steve Chiotakis spoke with Kevin Roderick for this week's LA Observed.
