    New Laws Take Effect July 1

    Tomorrow starts a new month, and there’s also a slew of new laws that go into effect here in Los Angeles and statewide. The changes could affect how you shop, how much money you make, and even if you can get paid while taking time off to care for family members.

    Tomorrow starts a new month, and – in many cases, including with the state of California – a new fiscal year. And there’s also a slew of new laws that go into effect here in Los Angeles and statewide. The changes could affect how you shop, how much money you make, and even if you can get paid while taking time off to care for family members. Kevin Roderick is editor of LA Observed, and spoke with KCRW's Steve Chiotakis.
