In a lengthy press conference, National Rifle Association head Wayne LaPierre called for armed security in the nation's schools -- and supported the idea of arming teachers, too. He also took aim at violent video games and the media, as he pushed back hard against calls for new gun-control legislation. Will his strategy buy guns-rights supporters time to sink President Obama's agenda, or will its alienate the NRA's more moderate supporters? Also, a look at House Speaker John Boehner's failed plan B, which aimed to raise taxes on the very wealthy to stymie Obama's proposal to raise taxes more broadly in the ongoing showdown over the fiscal cliff. Did Boehner's caucus abandon him? And does this help, or hinder, efforts to reach compromise?
