Keeping jobs at Carrier, and cabinet drama

It's drama worthy of a reality TV show over Secretary of State.

On Thursday Donald Trump held his first public event since election night. It was a speech at a manufacturing plant in Indiana that had negotiated a tax deal to not send jobs abroad. "It was perfect political theater," said Keli Goff of the Daily Beast. And 1,000 jobs is a very, very, very small band-aid for the white voters who put him into office, she said. It's extraordinary that Republicans were silent about this move and speaks to the ideological transformation that Trump may be imposing on the Republican Party, Rich Lowry said. Donald Trump's cabinet is coming into focus, is he draining the DC swamp, as promised? Katrina vanden Heuvel calls it a gallery of corporate insiders. Lowry says he likes the picks and for the most part they could have been picks in a Ted Cruz cabinet.

Josh Barro (Senior Editor at Business Insider) moderates from the Center. On the Left, Katrina vanden Heuvel (The Nation). Rich Lowry (National Review) is on the Right. Keli Goff (Daily Beast, host of WNYC's series, Political Party with Keli Goff) is our special guest.
