Terror Attack in France, Trump Chooses a Running Mate

Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, a 31-year-old man born in Tunisia, drove a truck through a Bastille Day fireworks celebration in the French city of Nice, killing at least 84. "What looks unusually scary to me about this attack is that it looked so simple," said Josh Barro of Business Insider. Security expert Juliette Kayyem agreed "unlike a sniper or others, this is really hard to stop... To stop this kind of attack would essentially mean urban living would have to change dramatically--we just aren't there yet." In response, Katrina vanden Heuvel, of The Nation, said the reaction should not be military. "we don't need massive occupations, they bread more extremism than they have stopped." In other news, presumptive Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump announce that Gov. Mike Pence will be his running mate. Rich Lowry says it was a safe choice, assuming Pence will be able to defend Trump, but "a week from now Trump will totally forget that Mike Pence is his running mate."
