Luminary DJ/Producer Eric Estornel, also known as Maceo Plex, started his musical journey back in 1993, conjuring mixes of techno, electro, and, house music that quickly gained him great popularity in the early rave scene as one of its most revered tastemakers.

With a career spanning over two decades, he’s been a key part of the electronic club and festival mainframe, as well as an Ibiza and Miami mainstay. Nowadays he is simply one of dance music’s biggest names—a DJ, producer and also the owner of label Ellum.

He’s one of the few producers out there with multiple artistic alter egos, on the decks around the globe as Maceo Plex, Maetrik, Mariel Ito and occasionally Estornel. Although as of more recently he mentioned that they are all starting to blend into one, while giving fans the opportunity to hear a bit of each alias in the flesh. Maceo Plex will play under that name next weekend here in Los Angeles, at El Pueblo De Los Angeles in the heart of DTLA.

And we are thrilled to welcome one of the underground’s most forward-thinking imprints to KCRW with an exclusive guest mix on Metropolis.
