Over the past couple of weeks, depositions have been taken as part of an audit commissioned by the Irvine City Council into alleged mismanagement of the Great Park. Those deposed have claimed that the massive public works project is really under the control of longtime Irvine politico, councilmember Larry Agran, and his pals, detailing specific incidents showing their allegations. Agran and his supporters, on the other hand, are decrying the depositions as little more than a witch hunt orchestrated by longtime critics that focuses on disgruntled ex-employees. More depositions are planned to be released in the coming weeks, with a final report scheduled for the fall — but will it get that far?
