Kelly Thomas Trial Wraps Up — What's Next?

Today, an Orange County jury acquitted two Fullerton police officers on all charges related to the killing of Kelly Thomas in 2011. Video evidence clearly shows officers Manuel Ramos and Jay Cicinelli participating in a beating that led to Thomas' death. Nevertheless, the jury exonerated Ramos of second-degree and involuntary manslaughter, and Cicinelli of involuntary manslaughter and excessive force. It's likely that Orange County jurisprudence will never be the same.
