    Last Bonfire for OC's Beach Fire Pits?

    This Friday, the South Coast Air Quality Management District is expected to pass new rules regulating Orange County's beach fire pits, a county tradition for over 60 years. This is an improvement over the AQMD's initial proposal to ban them, yet the issue will be far from dead even after their meeting. How did the once-unthinkable prospect of eliminating beach fire pits gets this far in the first place?
