There's increasing pressure at the Orange County District Attorney's office over its snitch scandal.

Last week, more than 30 prominent members of the legal community wrote a letter asking US Attorney General Loretta Lynch to investigate the Orange County District Attorney's office. The controversy stems over the OCDA's involvement in the county's so-called snitch scandal, in which prosecutors used informants to gather information that then wasn't shared with opposing attorneys. DA Tony Rackauckas claims they were oversights that won't happen again, but the errors were grave enough that a local judge removed the DA's office from a prominent death-penalty case. The letter, signed by luminaries like UCI Law School head Erwin Chemerinsky, former LA DA Gil Garcetti, and former California DA John Van de Kamp, has already been dismissed by the OCDA as political grandstanding, but might a federal investigation come out of it?
