OC Weekly Celebrates 20 Years

This Thursday, the OC Weekly will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a special issue filled with essays, cover images through the years, and an oral history of the paper. The Weekly debuted in 1995, and it has chronicled the almost impossible evolution of a county long stereotyped as wealth, conservative and white into the multicultural, influential area it is today. Along the way, the paper brought down political regimes, got innocent people out of jail, and covered OC's food, fashion, and cultural scene. And now it's for sale. What is OC Weekly's legacy — and its future?
