For decades, Orange County politicians openly scoffed at passenger-rail systems, famously scuttling a proposed light-rail operation that would've put almost 100 miles throughout the county. But in the past couple of years, they have seen the light. Anaheim is currently finishing a transportation hub that would connect the county with California's bullet train and also offer a trolley line to Disneyland. Santa Ana is aggressively pushing forward on its own light-rail plans that would connect it to Garden Grove. And the Board of Supervisors is talking about how to better improve the regional Metrolink system so OC commuters could benefit. What's with all the choo-choo love?
