Rising Stars Fall for OC Dems and GOP

Last week was a tough one for former rising stars in the OC Republican and Democratic Party. On Friday, former Santa Ana councilmember Carlos Bustamante pleaded guilty to sex crimes and is expected to get a one-year jail sentence. In Anaheim, councilmember Jordan Brandman announced he wasn't going to run anymore for Loretta Sanchez's Congressional seat after getting blasted by residents for mucking up the city's district elections map. For Brandman and Bustamante, this means the end of once-promising political futures. What lesson can other aspiring pols take from their stories?
