    The War between OC's DA and Public Defender Offices

    The curious legal battle that can influence many high-profile cases in Orange County.

    Last month, a member of the Orange County Public Defender's office made an explosive allegation when he charged the OC District Attorney's office of using a jailhouse informant improperly in multiple cases. One of the most high-profile ones involve Scott Dekraai, who has admitted to murdering seven people in a Seal Beach murder spree in 2011, and the Public Defender's office is asking a judge to either declare a mistrial or prohibit the DA from trying it. The public defender who is pushing for this is alleging years of misconduct. Is it sour grapes, or is he onto something?
