Fired Wells Fargo employees file class-action lawsuits

The Wells Fargo scandal continues. The bank’s CEO, John Stumpf, went through another round of questioning Thursday on Capitol Hill, where he continued to pin the bank’s troubles on rogue employees. Wells Fargo recently fired more than 5,000 workers for opening accounts for millions of customers without their knowledge. But two class action lawsuits have been filed that suggest the scandal could reflect a wider culture of corruption inside the bank. Former employees are alleging that they were punished, demoted or even fired for not doing things like setting up fake accounts and even for blowing the whistle on such activities.
