Republicans and Democrats might not agree on the dangers of global warming, but the American military has called climate change an “urgent and growing threat to our national security” and is already preparing for its impact. According to a study in the latest issue of Scientific American, the military is taking action in Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, and in the Arctic to prevent threats that could lead to conflict that might endanger U.S. interests.
