The International Olympic Committee announced today that Beijing will host the 2022 winter games, making it the first city ever to host both the summer and winter games. The decision seems to indicate a new way of choosing host cities.

And the Sklar Brothers bring us up to date on other sports news.

Then, SoulCycle—the indoor cycling company turned mass-cult spectacle— has grown from a fitness company to a full-on lifestyle brand. Now, the company’s looking to Wall Street. It filed papers yesterday for an IPO.

Finally, Samuel Dubose was shot after being pulled over for a missing front license plate. Sandra Bland died in jail after she was pulled over for not signaling a lane change. Walter Scott was shot while running away from an officer, after being pulled over for a broken taillight. Minor infractions are big revenue generators for a lot of smaller cities, but they often lead to negative police interactions.
