President Obama expands the Hawaiian Marine Monument
A campaign to stop the expansion of a massive marine monument around the Hawaiian islands has failed. President Obama quadrupled the size of it today. It’s now twice the size of the state of Texas. Many conservationists are celebrating the move. But many native Hawaiians and some local lawmakers see this as a federal land – or ocean – grab.
