Joe Hicks, who died on Sunday, was an iconoclastic figure in Los Angeles politics and media. In the ‘70s, he was a radical with the Black Power movement. Twenty years later, he served as LA head of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the civil rights organization once led by Martin Luther King Jr. And 20 years after that, Hicks reinvented himself as a conservative pundit and activist.
