    Despite our improving economy, new numbers show that 20 percent of Angelenos live in poverty. That’s one of the highest rates in the country. Madeleine visits the Midnight Mission, which serves 3,000 meals a day to poor and homeless on Skid Row.

    Madeleine visits the Midnight Mission on Skid Row, which serves 3,000 meals a day to poor and homeless Angelenos. Unlike some cities, L.A. doesn’t have laws requiring developers to include affordable units in their rental projects. We look at the reasons behind it.
