But Wednesday Martin has chosen to study the exotic tribe known as the wealthy housewives of the Upper East Side of Manhattan. In her new book, Primates of Park Avenue: A Memoir, she describes the tribe’s social behavior, hierarchy, child rearing techniques, rituals, costumes, and something called the wife bonus.
