That puts the school behind only Harvard and Stanford when it comes to raising money. Harvard, in fact, had a record-setting year - they added more than $1 billion to their already fat endowment in 2014, and passed Stanford in fundraising for the first time since 2004. But what do colleges do with all that cash? And what about all the schools that don’t have the same base as the Harvards, Stanfords and USCs?
