    The pandemic has a lot of people rethinking major decisions, such as where they work and live. States are eager to lure white-collar professionals who can now work remotely.

    The pandemic has a lot of people rethinking major decisions, such as where they work and live. States are eager to lure white-collar professionals who can now work remotely.

    But what about people whose jobs aren’t so easily transferable but no less necessary, such as retail workers, janitors and carpenters? Vermont wants to lure in these blue-collar workers too. The state just announced plans to pay them $7500 to come work.
