The LA Galaxy is in the playoffs again and competing for its third straight title. LA's other soccer team, Chivas USA, isn't faring as well. But Chivas USA supporter groups, the Union Ultras and the Black Army 1850, are keeping hope alive.

Produced by Avishay Artsy, edited by Anayansi Diaz-Cortes, with sound design by Ray Guarna.

KCRW'S Sonic Trace is supported, in part, by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, Art Works, and by Cal Humanities, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities. Experience more at CALHUM.ORG.
