José migrates from Torrance, California to Tijuana, Mexico.

José Ramirez, 19, was born in Torrance, California, and moved to Tijuana, Mexico almost immediately after birth. For 14 years he lived and went to school south of the border. "They used to call me 'gringo' or white boy," Jose recalls his classmates calling him.
