The sound of a typewriter cuts through the noise of a busy market. That’s what Jacqueline Suskin learned when she decided to take writing poetry to the street. Most weekends she sets up shop at the Hollywood Farmer’s Market to write short poems for the market-goers. They give her a subject and she takes a minute or two to compose a short poem on the spot, after which, she reads it aloud, signs it, and hands it over for a tip.
